Lazy Y Triathlon
June 15-July 15
Complete a triathlon over the course of 4 weeks. No experience needed!
Swim 2.4 miles, Bike 112 miles, Run 26.2 miles.
Events do not need to be completed in traditional order.
*Swim: 2.4 miles indoors or outdoors. Walnut Creek YMCA pool is 25 yards. ¼ mile=9 laps (or 18 lengths). Walnut Creek pool total laps needed is 85 laps (down and back).
*Bike: 112 miles, indoors, outdoors or in cycle classes.
*Run: 26.2 miles or walk, skip, use the elliptical indoors or outdoors. Group Exercise 30min class= 1 mile, 45min class=1.5 miles, 60min class=2 miles.
Bad knees? Do a double swim (4.8 miles), bike (112 miles) and no run.
Don’t swim? Do a double run ( 52.4 miles), bike (112 miles) and no swim.
$35 registration fee for members paid at Welcome Center or online by June 15. All participants will receive weekly emails, completion plans, and tracking cards. All finishers will receive their very own Lazy Y Tri T-shirt.
3 options for completion:
1. Traditional: Swim 2.4 miles, Bike 112 miles, Run 26.2 miles
2. No Run: Do a double swim (4.8 miles), bike (112 miles) and no run.
3. No Swim: Do a double run ( 52.4 miles), bike (112 miles) and no swim.
