Half-Day Summer Youth Programs - Preschool (Ages 3-5 Years)
Summer provides the perfect opportunity for kids to explore and ignite their imaginations. With the Waukee Family YMCA’s dynamic Half-Day Enrichment Programming, children can dive into their passions each day! The programs are carefully crafted with a focus on a weekly theme, ensuring that kids are fully immersed in the topic throughout the morning. From drop-off to pick-up, youth will enjoy a fun, engaging experience in a safe, supportive environment. They’ll have a blast in a creative, exciting environment that fosters growth, learning, and fun! It will be a summer experience full of discovery and excitement.
The programs below are available to children who are ages 3 – 5 years old; in preschool, or entering kindergarten in the fall of 2025. All children must be fully toilet-trained on the first day of programming. Please Note: A $20 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of registration. The deposit will be applied towards the balance due for your week of Half-Day Enrichment Programming. The remaining balance will be due on the Tuesday before the program begins.
3-Messy Masterpieces
Creativity shines in this interactive art adventure! With no rules about making a mess, young artists will delight in the hands-on experience of exploring a variety of art forms and learning how to express themselves through unique, fun, and exciting designs. This program celebrates the fun of creating and the joy of self-expression!

4-Astronaut Academy
Blast into a galaxy of fun! We will embark on a stellar adventure through space as we explore the mysteries of the universe. Children will launch their imaginations while discovering what it’s like to be an astronaut on a mission to the stars!

5-Once Upon An Imagination
Hear ye, hear ye! Prepare to be transported to a captivating land with castles, knights, princesses, dragons, and enchanted forest animals. We will be wishing on a star during this magical week as we play games, create fairytales, make masterpieces, and earn a crown in our very own royal kingdom.
